Although the actual content of the Beginner German Course can vary, it broadly covers the following areas.
Course Topics:
- Greetings and introductions
- German phrases for use in shops, hotels, bars and restaurants
- German for travelling around a city
- Introduction to Grammar, nouns, verbs, word order and numbers, starting to build up confidence in speaking German
- Use of adjectives, pronouns and adverbs
- Addition of more common phrases like 'how much or many’
- Alphabet
- Dates (days of the week and months)
- Subject words and phrases describing your job, family, nationality
- Expanding on your vocabulary of common items such as food and drinks
- Additional key adjectives, verbs, adverbs, connectives
Included in learning the German topics above is:
- Speaking/active practice
- Lots of listening to German pronunciation
- First steps on reading/writing German
- A background to the German culture
All of our Beginner Courses are taught by a native German teacher who is experienced in making the course as lively and fun as possible.
What progress will I have made by the end of the Beginners course?
You will improve your conversational German skills, increased your use of stock phrase, gain a greater confidence in German and obtain a deeper knowledge of the language and culture.
